Dr. DeLee has special interest and expertise in Sports Medicine and various conditions affecting the knee and hip. His practice is exclusive to sports medicine, and surgeries and diseases of the hip and knee. Dr. DeLee has specialized in Orthopaedic Sports medicine for the past 35 years (and counting).
Dr. DeLee was awarded a Total Joint Replacement Fellowship with Sir John Charnley in Wrightington, England in 1976. He practiced orthopaedic surgery for two years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then became a full-time member of the faculty of the Department in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he remained until 1983. In 1983 Dr. DeLee was awarded the prestigious American Orthopaedic Association ABC Traveling Fellowship. Since then Dr. DeLee has been in the private practice of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine in San Antonio, Texas while maintaining an appointment as clinical professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
